Bhutan Landing and Overflying Permit:

The Bhutan Landing and Overflying Flying Permit is an authorization issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAAB) of Bhutan, allowing an aircraft to land at or fly over Bhutan airspace. This permit is essential for any foreign aircraft intending to enter, exit, or transit through Bhutan’s airspace or airports. The CAAB reviews and approves permit applications, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, safety standards, and necessary documentation, contributing to the safe and orderly conduct of air travel within Bhutan airspace.

VQPR PARO LANDING PERMIT LEAD TIME:

7 working days (flight should operate on the 8th day) to obtain landing permission. However, we can also obtain short-notice permission subject to approval from CAAB.

BHUTAN LANDING PERMIT VALIDITY:

Validity of the Bhutan Landing Permit is +48 hours.

BHUTAN LANDING PERMIT FEES AND CHARGES:

Bhutan Civil Aviation Authority charges 10000 NU(USD 125) to issue the Bhutan Landing Permit. Navigation fees depend on the route flown in Bhutan FIR.

BHUTAN LANDING PERMIT REQUIREMENTS:

We need comprehensive flight details as part of the landing permit application. This includes information such as

  1. Purpose of Flight
  2. Operator Name
  3. ATS Routes (s) to be flown including entry & exit point.
  4. Alternate airport after leaving Bhutan airspace
  5. Type of Aircraft
  6. State of Registry / Nationality
  7. Aircraft Registrations
  8. Call sign
  9. Complete flight details along with crew and pax details are required to apply for the Bhutan landing permit.

BHUTAN LANDING DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED:

The documentation is required to support the Bhutan landing permit application. These documents may include:

  1. Certificate of Registration
  2. Certificate of Airworthiness
  3. Insurance Certificate
  4. AOC or Ops Specs
  5. All Pages of the license of Operating crew members.
  6. Valid medical of operating crew members
  7. Logbook of the pilot in command duly signed by the pilot and stamped by the operator (company seal)
  8. If no guide pilot is used, proof of training session undertaken by the flight crew for this particular aerodrome. Or the Pilot must have operated to VQPR in the last 90 days with Navigator on board, then PIC can give deceleration of No Guide Pilot required.
  9. General Declaration.
  10. Charter details in case of Aircraft being charter
  11. Travel/Cargo agent in Bhutan (Pax receiving party)

3 working days (flight should operate on 4th day) to obtain technical landing permission.

BHUTAN TECHNICAL LANDING PERMIT VALIDITY:

The validity of the Bhutan technical Landing Permit is +48 hours.

BHUTAN TECHNICAL LANDING PERMIT FEES AND CHARGES:

Bhutan Civil Aviation Authority charges 10000 NU(USD 125) to issue the Bhutan technical Landing Permit. Navigation fees depend on the route flown in Bhutan FIR.

BHUTAN TECHNICAL LANDING PERMIT REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Operator Name
  2. Aircraft type
  3. Aircraft Registration number.
  4. Call sign.
  5. Flight Schedule (Origin, Destination, routing etc)
  6. Crew Details (Gendec with passport details for fuel stop).
  7. Pax Details (Manifest with passport details for fuel stop).
  8. The purpose of the flight, whether commercial, private, ferry, technical landing, crew rest or cargo, should also be clearly stated.

For medical, ambulance, or relief mission flights, the minimum notice period requirement may be waived. Such cases will be processed on the same day within a few hours, contingent upon the availability of required documents and the CAAB official.
