VEPY Airport / PYG Airport / Gangtok Airport Information

Gangtok Airport, officially known as Pakyong Airport, is located in Pakyong, about 30 km from Gangtok in the state of Sikkim. It uses the ICAO code VEPY and IATA code PYG. Opened in 2018, it is one of India’s highest airports, built on a hilltop with beautiful mountain views. The airport has a single runway and handles small domestic flights, improving air connectivity for Gangtok and the rest of Sikkim. Although weather and terrain can make operations challenging, the airport is important for tourism and travel in the region.
