Tirupati Airport (IATA: TIR), also known as Renigunta Airport, is located about 14 km from Tirupati city in Andhra Pradesh. Operated by the Airports Authority of India, it serves as the main air gateway for pilgrims visiting the famous Tirumala Venkateswara Temple. Inaugurated in 2015, the modern terminal blends traditional temple-inspired architecture with contemporary facilities and can handle around 1.5 million passengers a year. The airport connects Tirupati to major cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai through airlines such as IndiGo, Air India Express, and Akasa Air. Though designated as an international airport, regular international flights are yet to begin.
